Is a Therapy Intensive Right for You?

If “what’s for dinner?” makes you want to jump off a cliff—this is for you!

When even simple questions like “what’s for dinner?” feel overwhelming, it’s often a sign that your internal reserves have been depleted for a long time. Not because you’re weak—but because you’ve been strong for everyone else.

If you’re the one who always holds it together…
for your family, your work, your relationships…
it can start to feel like there’s nothing left for you!

You show up.
You manage, cope, and keep going.
Your needs come last.
You push through exhaustion because stopping doesn’t feel like an option.

And underneath it all, you feel empty, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself.

If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone—and support is available.

What Is a Therapy Intensive?

A therapy intensive is a condensed, highly focused therapeutic experience designed to support deep healing in a shorter period of time. Intensives are offered in 3- or 6-hour formats and provide the space to slow down, listen inward, and address what’s been weighing on you—without stretching the work out over months.

Rather than weekly sessions that skim the surface, intensives offer a contained and intentional experience that allows for deeper processing, nervous system regulation, and meaningful insight.

This work is trauma-informed, thoughtfully paced, and grounded in safety and collaboration.

How Therapy Intensives Can Support You

Therapy intensives may be helpful if you’re experiencing:

  • Chronic overwhelm, burnout, or compassion fatigue
  • The invisible mental and emotional load you’ve been carrying
  • Ongoing pressure to keep functioning at all costs
  • People-pleasing patterns that leave you depleted
  • Trauma responses that keep your system on high alert
  • Parts of you that learned to survive by pushing through—even when exhausted

Together, we gently explore why the overwhelm is there, not just how to cope with it, so you can begin releasing what no longer serves you.

Therapy intensives are designed to offer focused, intentional support within a clearly structured framework. Each intensive includes preparation, the intensive experience itself, and follow-up integration—so you’re supported before, during, and after the work.

Session Options

You may choose between two formats:

  • 3-Hour Intensive (One Day)
A single, focused session designed for deep exploration and processing within a contained timeframe.
  • 6-Hour Intensive (Over Two Days)
The intensive is divided into two 3-hour sessions on separate days, allowing time for rest, reflection, and nervous system integration between sessions.

Setting & Privacy

Sessions are held outdoors, weather permitting, in a quiet and private natural setting.
Your confidentiality is fully respected—no one else will be present during your intensive aside from you and your therapist. If weather does not allow for outdoor work, an appropriate alternative will be discussed in advance.

Therapeutic Approach

Therapy intensives integrate evidence-based and creative modalities, including:

  • EMDR to support trauma processing and nervous system regulation
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS-informed work) to explore and understand protective and wounded parts
  • Expressive arts to support non-verbal processing, insight, and integration

The work is collaborative, trauma-informed, and paced with care.

Included Support Sessions

Each therapy intensive includes:

  • A 1-hour intake session approximately one week prior to the intensive
This session allows us to clarify goals, assess readiness, and prepare for the work.
  • A 1-hour follow-up session approximately two weeks after the intensive
This session supports integration, reflection, and continued stabilization.

These sessions are an essential part of the intensive process and help ensure the experience is both supportive and contained.
