FAQ
Choosing a therapist is a meaningful step, and it’s natural to have questions along the way. This FAQ page is here to offer clarity, ease, and a sense of grounding as you explore whether we might be a good fit. Below you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions about my approach, the tools I use, and what you can expect from working together.
What concerns do you typically work with?
I support women navigating anxiety, overwhelm, trauma responses, people-pleasing patterns, burnout, and self-doubt. My work centers on helping you reconnect with your authentic self and build lasting emotional resilience.
What approaches do you use in therapy?
I integrate IFS-informed EMDR and expressive arts therapies. These approaches help you explore internal parts of yourself, process unresolved experiences, and reconnect with creativity as a healing tool.
Are sessions virtual?
Yes. All therapy sessions are held virtually via telehealth to support convenience, privacy, and accessibility.
What is the difference between therapy and the educational content you share?
Everything I share online or in newsletters is for general education only — not therapy or individualized advice. Sessions are tailored to your unique needs, history, and goals, which cannot be provided through social media or informational content.
Do you offer EMDR intensives?
Yes. I offer IFS-informed EMDR intensives for clients seeking deeper, focused work. Intensives can support healing, integration, and nervous system regulation more effectively than weekly therapy. You can learn more on the “Intensives” page.
What can I expect during my first session?
Your first session is a grounding space for us to get to know one another. We’ll explore what’s bringing you in, what you’re hoping for, and how we might work together. There’s no pressure to share everything at once — healing happens one step at a time.
What is expressive arts therapy?
Expressive arts therapy invites creativity into the healing process — through imagery, symbolic work, or gentle creative exploration. No artistic skill is required. It’s simply another way of helping your nervous system process and express what words alone sometimes cannot.
Do you work with people outside of Oklahoma?
I am licensed in Oklahoma and can work with clients who reside within the state.
What is IFS-informed EMDR?
IFS-informed EMDR blends two powerful trauma-healing approaches: Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). In this approach, we honor and get curious about your internal “parts” — the protective, wounded, or reactive aspects of you — while using EMDR’s structured, neuroscience-informed method to process past experiences.
This integrative style allows us to move at a pace that feels grounded and respectful. Instead of pushing parts aside, we invite them into the healing process so they feel supported and understood. Many clients find that IFS-informed EMDR helps them access deeper clarity, compassion, and emotional relief in a gentle, empowering way.
